Indian Armed Forces Honour Dr. Sandeep Marwah for Films on Kargil Veterans & Shaheeds at USI
New Delhi — In a solemn and inspiring ceremony held at the United Service Institution of India (USI), Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios, was appreciated and honoured by the Indian Armed Forces for his outstanding contribution to preserving the stories of India’s brave soldiers through cinema.

The honour was presented by Col. Pankaj Goel of the Metamorphes Foundation, in the distinguished presence of Lt Gen Adosh Kumar, PVSM, AVSM, SM — Director General Artillery & Senior Colonel Commandant, along with veterans, Veer Naris, military dignitaries, and guests committed to the cause of national remembrance.

Dr. Marwah was recognized for his powerful films created in tribute to the Veterans and Shaheeds of Kargil, including the premiere of “Virasat,” showcased as part of the Battlefield and Beyond initiative.

In a deeply moving address, Dr. Marwah said: “Today, as we gather for the premiere of Virasat, we stand in the presence of a legacy that humbles us—the legacy of Major C.B. Dwivedi, a Hero of Kargil whose courage still echoes across the mountains he once defended. Virasat is not merely a film. It is a heartbeat. It is a promise that we, as a nation, will never let the light of our bravehearts fade.”

He further expressed immense pride in supporting the initiatives of the Metamorphes Foundation as its Chief Patron, praising the organization for transforming remembrance into service in just four years.“Their documentaries, one of which has received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, remind the nation that heroism is not a headline—it is a life lived in duty, honour, and sacrifice.”

Dr. Marwah highlighted the Foundation’s impactful initiatives: BraveHomes: Providing dignity and livelihood to soldier families School Programmes: Instilling values of patriotism and character in over 75,000 students, Support to Veeranganas: Including counselling, wellness sessions, pensions, education, and personal care

He emphasized: “For me, supporting this mission is not an act of generosity. It is an act of National Duty. A country that remembers its martyrs rises stronger.” Addressing the gathering, he said:, “To our veterans—you remain the guiding light of this nation.” “To our Veer Naris—your courage in the quiet moments surpasses even the bravery we honour on battlefields.” “To the Metamorphes team—your work ensures that sacrifice becomes legacy, and legacy becomes inspiration.”

Concluding his address, Dr. Marwah urged: “As we watch Virasat, let us be grateful and responsible. The freedom we enjoy today was written with the blood of heroes like Major Dwivedi. May his story ignite in each of us a deeper love for our nation and an unwavering resolve to honour those who stood guard while we slept.”

The ceremony marked a profound tribute to India’s brave soldiers and underscored Dr. Sandeep Marwah’s unwavering dedication to national pride, remembrance, and cultural responsibility through the medium of cinema.
