I had always dreamed of balancing my career with motherhood, but when the pandemic hit, my life took an unexpected turn. As an expat new mom, I found myself stuck at home, unable to leave my baby son and unable to work in the usual way. Having assistance was almost impossible with the strict restrictions, day cares were shut down, the whole country simply stopped functioning. My dreams of independence, financial freedom and career growth were all demolished. I felt hopeless, completely depending on my husband, unable to satisfy my passion for growth. I was really tried. I used this time and enrolled in a Masters online program where I gained my MBA degree when my son was still months old. Unfortunately, I couldn't enjoy his simplest milestones because I was totally drained. After two years and when I thought that finally I can break out of this prison and start my career journey, I found myself stuck in a market trying to recover from a devastating pandemic. However, I didn't allow this to stop me. My son was about to start attending school, so I decided to complete my Teaching Diploma and try to look for any teaching job for its suitable timing with my son's school hours. Again, it was not an easy thing to do and I got stuck again.
Feeling completely hopeless, desperate and useless, I heard about this amazing life changing opportunity. At the beginning, I thought to myself that this is "too good to be true".
